Tree Plantation

Bhoomithan’s first project, initiated on June 5, 2022, in collaboration with Laxmi Cares and Clean up Nepal, involved planting 400 trees. The long-term plan aimed at restoring ecosystems in Nepal’s urban areas, incorporating the Miyawaki Method, continued in June 2023 with partnerships with organizations like Revolution Project, Women in Nature Network, The Jane Goodall Institute Nepal, and Division Forest Office, Kathmandu.

Sourced from the District Forest Office, 500 saplings of 19 different native trees were planted using the Miyawaki method, ensuring rapid growth and dense plantations for at least three years.

Bhoomithan has expanded its collaboration to include PM Agro farm in the pursuit of tree plantation. PM Agro farm based in Bardibas, Mahottari district is committed to ethical and holistic farming practices, is actively working towards establishing a resource center comprising a training center, cultural hub, residential cottages, vegetable gardens, fruit orchard, and a small rescued animal sanctuary. A designated section of the farm is dedicated to land regeneration through the Miyawaki technique. The center’s ambitious plan involves planting 1200 native trees to enhance and support the local biodiversity, particularly benefiting wild native birds in the sanctuary area. This initiative is poised to serve as a catalyst for the comprehensive development of the entire center.

Bhoomithan is genuinely delighted to embark on this collaborative journey with PM Agro, dedicating support to their ambitious goal of planting 1200 trees. This joint effort is designed to uplift and strengthen the local biodiversity of the region, with a special focus on benefiting wild native birds in the sanctuary area. Bhoomithan’s active involvement is expected to act as a catalyst, contributing to the holistic development of the entire center.
